29. March 2015

On Friday, March 27, around 100 specialists from all over Estonia gathered in Astangu in order to learn from our 10 years' experience in helping people with traumatic brain injury.

The conference, named "NEW OPPORTUNITY - 10 years of traumatic brain injury programme in Astangu Vocational Rehabilitation Centre", gave answers to the following questions:

  • what does it mean to live with traumatic brain injury;
  • what kind of help do relatives and others close to people with traumatic brain injury need the most;
  • how do people with traumatic brain injury cope and find jobs?

In addition, a book written by the creator of Astangu' traumatic brain injury programme, speech therapist Kadri Mölder, was introduced. The book is called "When the brain takes a break - a practical guide for people with traumatic brain injury, and their relatives".
